Ingredients
  

Cookie Dough

  • 2.75 cups All-purpose flour
  • 1 cup Butter, softened
  • 1 cup Granulated sugar
  • 1 Egg
  • 1 tsp Vanilla extract
  • 0.5 tsp Baking powder

Decoration

  • 1 Royal icing Prepared
  • As needed Food coloring

Instructions
 

  • Preheat your oven to 175°C (350°F).
  • In a mixing bowl, cream the softened butter and sugar together until light and fluffy.
  • Beat in the egg and vanilla extract until combined.
  • In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour and baking powder. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until a dough forms.
  • Roll the dough out on a lightly floured surface to your desired thickness. Cut out flower shapes using cookie cutters.
  • Place the cutouts on baking sheets and bake for 8 to 10 minutes.
  • Remove the cookies from the oven and let them cool completely on a wire rack.
  • Decorate the cooled cookies with royal icing, using food coloring to create floral patterns.
