Santa Punch (Kid Friendly)
I made this punch for my children’s classroom party one December, and the excitement was unforgettable. Their eyes lit up at the “Santa drink,” and they all insisted it tasted like Christmas cheer. It’s been a kid-favorite ever since.
Equipment
- 8 bamboo skewers
Ingredients
For the Punch Base
- 1 package strawberry jello
- 1 3/4 cups sugar
- 5 cups hot water
- 2 cans frozen lemonade
- 20 oz pineapple juice
- 32 oz ginger ale chilled
- 1 quart vanilla ice cream for serving
For the Strawberry Santa Hats Garnish
- 16 strawberries tops removed
- 16 mini marshmallows
- 8 regular marshmallows cut in half
- 1/2 cup marshmallow fluff for rim dip
- 1/4 cup white jimmies (sprinkles)
Instructions
- Dissolve the strawberry jello and sugar in the hot water. Let this mixture cool completely.
- Add the frozen lemonade and pineapple juice to the cooled jello mixture. Stir well and chill the mixture until cold.
- Right before you serve the punch, slowly add the chilled ginger ale and the vanilla ice cream to the mixture.
- Prepare the garnish rims if desired. Dip the rim of each serving cup in marshmallow fluff and then coat the fluff with white sprinkles.
- Make the strawberry hats. Place one half of a regular marshmallow, one strawberry (without the top), and one mini marshmallow onto one half of a bamboo skewer. Repeat for all servings.
Notes
Serve the vanilla ice cream on the side so people can add their own amount as they wish.
For a more festive way to serve, dip the rim of the cup in frosting or marshmallow cream and coat it in white sprinkles. Finish with a strawberry Santa hat for garnish.
Store any leftovers in the refrigerator for up to one week. The soda will lose its carbonation, but the flavor will remain good.
