Homemade French Pastry for Breakfast

Making French-style pastries at home always reminded me how a slow morning can feel incredibly special. This recipe uses store-bought puff pastry to create simple, elegant breakfast treats.

Ingredients
  

  • 1 sheet Puff pastry (butter-based)

For the Egg Wash

  • 1 Egg For brushing
  • 1 tbsp Milk

For Serving (Optional)

  • Powdered sugar For dusting

Instructions
 

  • Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
  • Roll out the puff pastry sheet on a lightly floured surface.
  • Cut the pastry into triangles.
  • Roll each triangle starting from the wide end to form a croissant shape.
  • Whisk the egg with the milk in a small bowl. Brush the tops of the pastries with this egg wash.
  • Bake for 18 to 22 minutes, or until the pastries are golden brown and flaky.
  • Remove the pastries from the oven, let them cool slightly, and dust with powdered sugar if you choose to use it.

This recipe relies on good quality, butter-based puff pastry for the best flavor and texture.
