Equipment

  • Large bowl
  • Hand Mixer or Stand Mixer
  • Heart-shaped bowl (optional)
  • Knife
  • Cutting board

Ingredients

Fluffy Fruit Dip

  • 1 block cream cheese softened
  • 3/4 cup powdered sugar
  • 1/2 cup whipped cream
  • 5-7 drops red food coloring

Grinch Tray

  • 1 red bell pepper
  • 1 quart strawberries
  • 1 pint cherry tomatoes
  • 1 pint raspberries
  • 1 bag white cheddar popcorn
  • 1 green bell pepper
  • 3 kiwis
  • 1 8-ounce bag sugar snap peas
  • 1 bunch green grapes
  • 2 mini cucumbers
  • 1 package black licorice wheels
  • 1 package lemon heads
  • 2 chocolate covered raisins for pupils

Instructions

  • Place cream cheese, powdered sugar, and whipped cream in a large bowl. Beat on medium-high speed until smooth and combined.
  • Add 5-7 drops of red food coloring to the dip and stir until combined. Adjust color if needed. Transfer to a heart-shaped bowl if available.
  • Slice red and green bell peppers, removing the most curved ends. Reserve the bottom of the green bell pepper for the nose.
  • Cut tops off strawberries and slice them in half. Slice cherry tomatoes in half. Peel and slice kiwi, cutting some in half and some in quarters.
  • Slice green grapes in half. Cut cucumbers into slices.
  • Arrange popcorn where the rim and ball of the Santa hat will be. Outline the hat with red bell pepper strips, layering them to create a barrier.
  • Outline the Grinch's face with green bell pepper strips in the same way. Fill the hat with strawberries, cherry tomatoes, and raspberries.
  • Fill the face with kiwi, snap peas, green grapes, and cucumbers. Unroll licorice to make the mouth.
  • Place the reserved green bell pepper bottom as the nose. Connect the nose to the mouth with a line of licorice.
  • Use lemon heads on sugar snap peas to create eyes. Place a chocolate raisin in the center of each eye. Add licorice for eyebrows.

Notes

This tray is best assembled just before serving to keep fruits and vegetables fresh. If lemon heads are placed directly on kiwi, their color may bleed.
