Ingredients

  • 12 Large eggs
  • 1 inch Cold water Enough to cover eggs by 1 inch

Instructions

  • Place eggs in a saucepan in a single layer.
  • Cover eggs with cold water by about 1 inch.
  • Bring water to a full boil over medium-high heat.
  • Once boiling, cover the pan and remove it from the heat source.
  • Let the eggs sit in the hot water for 10 to 12 minutes.
  • Transfer the eggs to an ice bath for 5 minutes.
  • Peel the eggs immediately or store them refrigerated.

Notes

This method is reliable for achieving fully cooked yolks. If you plan to store the eggs, peeling them after the ice bath makes the process simpler later.
